The abortion

  By: Juan Morales Ordonez -

Internationally, the acceptance and allowance of abortion spreads throughout the world because it is considered as an advance of humanity. Those who defend it feel inspired by a moral cause that has at the center the defense of the interests of women and their right to dispose of their bodies, including the conceived child. The embryo, for these groups, is nothing but a part of the female organism and if it is not wanted by the mother for various reasons, these arguments should be enough to interrupt the pregnancy and kill the fetus, thus specifying the desire or need of the aborts. Obviously, despite certain grotesque manifestations that are unrepeatable as such, this action of destroying the unborn and unwanted - due to various circumstances - is also an act of pain and trauma for those who carry it out, feelings that in themselves have a dimension different from that of claiming the right to be able to do so. To destroy, shedding blood and destroying the body of the unborn, is for all and surely for those who make it a dramatic and indelible event in their lives. Otherwise, if this act is assumed as one of moral fulfillment, it would be a sample of insensitivity, clearly pathological and perverted. Abortion is not pleasant for anyone and even less for those who practice it.

The force of example

  By: Juan Morales Ordonez -

Those who work in ethics, reflecting on it and analyzing human actions from that perspective, when they reach the field of moral education agree on the importance of example and position in an accessory place the processes defined by the assimilation of knowledge and the repetition of concepts of what they consider to be morally right or wrong. Thus, education in values, a phrase that is used so often and in so many settings in our society, would be determined, more than by the discourse on what those values or principles represent, by the example of the life of each citizen. and especially of those who have responsibilities as parents, teachers and many others who fulfill social functions of leadership and management in the systems of human coexistence. Piaget, the Swiss sage, was one of those who defended this approach.

Better days

I think the last time we experienced such an emotional party in Ecuador was when Nine Kaviedes scored that great goal that qualified us for our first World Cup. Today, the streets of Ecuador are once again dressed in the most precious national symbol we have: our flag. Despite the fact that we have lived through the story that the only thing that unites this country is soccer, that regionalisms, fanaticism and resentment are stronger, we always show who we are in the moments we need it most, such as when a An earthquake shakes our souls or a pandemic locks us up to our fate.

Sustainable Development

It's about staying and projecting yourself. Of survival. And, in order for this fundamental aspiration to have signs of concretion in the social and environmental reality, human beings formulate principles, precepts and norms, we build culture and civilization. Life, then, and its preservation is one of the essential moral arguments that justify social organization and the action of individuals.

From the perspective of life, contemporary humanity, in 2015, generated a document that incorporates some of the great planetary ethical requirements with the suggestive title Transforming our world: the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, which proposes 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and 167 targets. It is a turning point that has generated new power relations between governments, international organizations and traditional entities of global cooperation. The intention is to reach a kind of multicentricity that allows development also from the local.

The practice of law

  By: Juan Morales Ordonez -

Like many other notions, this is universally assimilated –without reservation of inventory– to the professional practice that defends the interests of citizens who claim rights within the framework of justice administration systems. Judicial litigation, to a large extent, is the space in which the law is practiced, a statement that makes sense but that circumscribes the concept of the right to its use in extraordinary situations, such as those arising from the disagreement and confrontation between natural or legal persons who have different points of view on aspects of their own interest.

The jurisdictional practice of law also occurs when individuals adapt their conduct to the prohibitions of the current legal system, which in those cases establishes forced sanctions, which can be objected by legal professionals who defend the interests of their clients.
