WHO considers renaming monkeypox virus for ethical reasons
The World Health Organization (WHO) has plans to change the name of the monkeypox virus, said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of the organization.
"WHO engages with colleagues and experts around the world to rename
this virus, its counterparts and the disease it causes.
Soon we will announce new variants", said Ghebreyesus in a conference
press.
