This seminar is an introduction to Ethics (or Moral Philosophy) and its normative and practical dimensions (the
called Applied Ethics). The sessions and readings in this seminar offer an insight into a new
disciplinary interface that addresses different fields of knowledge and professionals. Then a
brief description of the two thematic blocks:
A) From Ethics to applied Ethics. The first thematic section is dedicated to the philosophical foundations of the
applied ethical reflection. More specifically, it aims to provide fundamental tools
of ethical research that allow the development of an adequate reflection within the various fields of
practical interest.
B) Areas of applied ethics. The second thematic part of the course is dedicated to various fields of the
applied ethics with special emphasis on its professional dimension. Here practical questions of
interdisciplinary nature.
